The French-Japanese fashion house Kenzo commissioned Toilet Paper magazine (maurizio cattelan, pierpaolo ferrari and micol talso) to produce its Autumn/Winter campaign and the results have been deemed a great success. Industry bellwether, The Business of Fashion, selected the Cattelan/Kenzo collaboration as the best ads of the season, citing the neat marriage of Kenzo’s “signature quirk” of “technicolour, pop art and surrealism” with Toilet Paper’s own acerbic style.

Blown Minded: a hand-painted animation for Young Galaxy by Carine Khalifé

Montreal-based artist Carine Khalife created a moving painted landscape for Young Galaxy’s song “Blown Minded”.

Every frame of the clip was painted on a piece of glass, fixed to a light box, while a camera captured the changing images from above. As Khalife played with the paint, every moment was transferred to her computer to be edited. More than 1,600 frames for the 3 minute animation.

Shortly thereafter the statistics appeared as an email that continues to be circulated and viewed by millions of people around the world.
