Float Kitchen by MUT
MUT is rethinking the modern kitchen; instead of the rigid all integrated elements, the design studio is separating every piece to create mobile islands that can be integrated in open spaces and no longer obliges us to stare at the wall while cooking.
MUT has created the Float Kitchen for the brand Miras editions. The luxury kitchen uses materials such as metal, copper, natural wood or marble to create a simple language appealing to emotions. Float is made up of five pieces of furniture characterized by their simplicity: a kitchen island, a cupboard, a glass cabinet, a serving cart and a room divider.
The sober and ecologically sustainable design is a radical innovative proposal to give back the kitchen its status as a fully habitable space illustrating MUT belief that ‘cooking is not an obligation, but a pleasure’.
Thanks to its adaptability, this kind of furniture goes beyond the domestic borders to fit into many different environments such as offices, hotels and restaurants, emphasizes Alberto Sánchez, the founder of MUT .
It was Javier Miras who gave me the chance, almost two years ago, to develop a most rewarding project from a professional perspective, because it involved more than just devising a nice product. FLOAT is the result of a strenuous research, analysis and strategy work with the aim of creating an exclusive and personal collection
MUT is a design studio founded by Alberto Sánchez in 2010. This multidisciplinary team is also a publisher whose values are based upon the principle of emotive design. Since its conception MUT has aimed to experiment with and redefine everyday objects. This unique quality and fresh take on the everyday unites each and every project realised by this enterprising atelier converting MUT into a design icon thanks to its regular presence at design fairs.
