Inside Architect Joseph Dirand Home

We already featured few of Joseph Dirand’s work here, and now we can have a glimpse at his own home thanks to Nowness. The video shows his 7th arrondissement apartment and Dirand explaining his own style.

Dirand’s apartment is situated in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, the general ambiance reflect his minimal approach and sophisticated details. The simple volumes of the place are heightened by the designer’s pieces of choice; vintage furniture from Oscar Niemeyer as well as Etorre Sottsass, Pierre Jeanneret and Le Corbusier.

Dirand says that “I always want to get inspired by different things and I realize there is no end to learning”, however he admits that his style has matured and that meant more simplicity and a fair amount of marble.

“I always want to get inspired by different things and I realize there is no end to learning,” says Dirand. “In a couple of years I will be more cultivated and have more sources of inspiration, and accordingly my work will be even more complex.”

Dirand portfolio is becoming more and more impressive and ranges from retail to residential buildings all over the world, from Beirut to Beijing.  He has also become a fashion-world favorite, outfitting shops for Balmain, Balenciaga, Rick Owens and Givenchy.
