Minimalist Design Editions | Basic and multifunctional
It seems like designer Gaël Manes has merged his understanding of design into the name of his brand: Minimalist Design Editions. The young company has issued a collection of furniture and objects that are simple yet multifunctional.
Gaël Manes is a an advocate of sustainable development and believes that the Maximum economy of means can it be an alternative to over-consumption that threatens the environmental and social balance.
“I want to make environmental values and beliefs. Hunt superfluous is a way to criticize the system of consumption. Why add unnecessary things to an object that does not need and should continue over time? This is my vision of the future but also a lifestyle that is contrary to what is being done currently. We must find a balance between what sells and what does not destroy the planet.”
The collection includes the Miss Slim console with its fine lines, the mirror O fil du temps that looks like walking on a tightrope in thin steel or the coat T(h)ree, a coat hanger but also a bench to sit on and to store shoes.“One object can fulfill the function of three objects. This saves space and is a way to be environmentally responsible”.
