Tull Lamp by Tommaso Caldera
Tull is a pendant and floor lamp by Italian designer Tommaso Caldera. The lightin is a reinterpretation of the classic caged workshop lamp combined with a domestic shade.
The inspiration came from the old lamps usually found in workshops or warehouses. The idea was the transpose this typically industrial light into a domestic one by softening its shape. The wire cage, initially made to protect the light source, has been redesigned to accommodate the shade and to influence the light and shape shadows.

Tommaso Caldera was born in 1986. In 2012 he graduated in Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Milano. Between 2008 and 2012 he worked as a Junior and Senior Designer in Odo Fioravanti’s studio, before moving to New York to work in Jonathan Olivares’ studio. In 2012, he started working with Italian design brands, which lead him to present his first pieces as an independent designer at the Salone del Mobile in the same year. In September 2013, he was selected by the Italian Cultural Institute of New York as Top Young Industrial Designer. In his studio, based in Pavia, he is responsible for the product design for both Italian and international companies.
